Questions and answers.

Short answers first. The docs carry the detail and the arithmetic.

The basics

What is Rentday?

A vault on Robinhood Chain that holds USDG. An operating company owns a small set of let apartments in US cities and, on the 1st of each month, sends the rent left after every bill into the vault. That raises the price of vRENT, the vault's share.

What do I own when I hold vRENT?

A proportional claim on the USDG in the vault. You do not own an apartment, sign a lease or deal with a tenant.

Does rent land in my wallet each month?

No. Rent stays in the vault and lifts the vRENT price. You take the gain when you cash out.

What do I need to start?

A browser wallet such as Rabby or MetaMask on Robinhood Chain, at least 100 USDG, and a little ETH for gas. The site adds the network to your wallet when you connect.

When can I deposit?

Now. The vault is live on Robinhood Chain. Open the deposit page, connect a wallet and deposit from 100 USDG. The $RENT token launches on Pons separately; follow @rentdayxyz for its address.

Money in, money out

How is the price set?

USDG in the vault divided by vRENT outstanding. The contract reports it through convertToAssets, and nobody pushes a number in from outside.

When does the price move?

On rent day, when net rent and $RENT token fees arrive. Deposits and cash-outs change the USDG and the share count together, so they leave the price where it was.

How do I cash out?

Open the deposit page, pick Cash out, enter an amount of vRENT and sign. The vault pays USDG in the same transaction. There is no queue and no exit fee.

Can cash-outs be paused?

No. The owner key can pause new deposits and change the deposit cap. The contract has no switch that stops redemptions and no function that moves your USDG anywhere but back to you.

What fees are there?

None to enter or leave. The buildings pay their own bills out of rent: property manager 7% of rent collected, property tax and insurance on appraised value. The vault charges 0.75% a year on the USDG it holds and 10% of rent left after property costs. The full schedule.

What happens in a bad month?

If repairs cost more than the rent collected, nothing reaches the vault and the price holds still. The Roll prints the shortfall, and later rent repays it before the price rises again.

The Roll and the token

What is the Roll?

The monthly report. One line per apartment with its lease rent and status, every cost, token fees, and the price the month produced. It publishes at 00:00 UTC on the 1st and needs no wallet to read.

How do I know nobody edited a Roll?

Its SHA-256 hash goes into the RollRegistry contract. Hash the file yourself on the Roll page or with sha256sum and compare. A match proves the file is unchanged. It does not prove the figures inside are true.

Why so few buildings?

So one person can read the whole Roll in a few minutes and spot the apartment that has sat empty three months running. A bigger portfolio would turn the report into a formality.

Can I back a single building?

No. One vRENT covers every building, so one empty apartment dents the month instead of sinking it.

What is $RENT?

The community token on a Pons bonding curve. It has no claim on the apartments or the vault. 1% of its trading is routed into the vault, which lifts vRENT; nothing flows the other way. Contract address: launch soon.

Why do some figures say Sample?

Rentday has not closed a month yet. The sample portfolio and six sample Rolls run through the real close engine so you can see the format and check the arithmetic. They are not results. The labels disappear when Roll 001 publishes.
